Buckthorn Seed Powder is a traditional yellow natural dye used for bright golden tones and, with modifiers, olive and khaki shades.
Botanical name:Rhamnus (species varies by harvest)
Best for: cotton & linen (with tannin + alum), wool & silk (with alum), eco printing, and iron-modified olive tones.
Quick use: Scour first. Mordant with alum (cotton/linen often benefits from a tannin pre-treatment). Use 10–30% WOF depending on depth. Modify with iron for olive/greenish tones.
Notes: Natural batches vary. Store sealed in a cool, dry place.
