Calcium Carbonate is a dye additive used adjust the PH of the dye bath and modify the color of natural dyes. It is particularly useful in deepening the colors of natural dyes such as Madder and Weld.
Calcium carbonate can also be used to fix natural dyes mordanted with aluminum acetate or ferrous sulphate.
