Pomegranate Peel Powder is a tannin-rich natural dye made from dried pomegranate peels. It’s valued by natural dyers for producing soft warm yellows and for its tannin content, which can support cellulose dye workflows and iron-shifted olive/grey tones.
Botanical name: Punica granatum
Form: Fine powder (ready to use)
Best for
Cotton & linen (cellulose fibers), especially when working with tannin-based processes
Wool & silk with alum mordant for warm, earthy yellows
Eco printing / botanical dyeing
Olive, khaki, and grey shifts using iron as a modifier
How to use (quick guide)
Scour your fabric thoroughly.
Mordant with alum (cellulose may benefit from a tannin step depending on your process).
Use 10–30% WOF depending on depth.
Simmer gently 30–60 minutes, then let cool in the bath for deeper tones.
Tip: Add a small amount of iron to shift shades toward olive/grey.
